What’s the difference between a Badge and a Ticket?
A badge allows you into the convention. There are several badges one can purchase. There are day only badges, weekend badges, VIP badges, and vendor badges. Tickets allow you to take part in an event, such as a tournament, a board game, or attend to a panel. Tickets are normally free and cost nothing to obtain (such as joining in on a scheduled board game) while some may have a small fee (such as a tournament for $10.00).
Why is the price in US dollars?
Y-Con uses Table Top Events, a third party website that handles all of the organization for conventions, including registration, scheduling of games, and the collection of money. As they are a company based in the United States they only offer US pricing. Y-Con’s pricing appears in US dollars and is based on an amount that considers the US to Canada conversion rate.
I don’t have a credit card. Are there other forms of payment Table Top Events accepts?
No. Table Top Events accepts credit cards only. However, if you do not have a credit card, you can purchase your badge via e-transfer to make an Interac payment. Online banking with your bank needs to be activated. Once activated, e-transfers are very easy to complete and can be sent through e-mail, or over a smart phone. Just follow the instructions on your bank’s website regarding e-transfers. All e-transfers are to be sent to info@yarmouthcon.com. There is one other option for payment, and that is with cash. If you find yourself in Yarmouth, NS, head over to Mythic Games & Hobbies on Main Street where you can make a cash payment for your badge. Once done, a receipt will be sent to you and your account will be created on Table Top Events.
When I purchase a badge, do I receive it in the mail or do I have to pick it up?
Badges will be available for pick up at the registration desk each morning of the convention. When you arrive, just provide us your name and we will have your badge ready for you.
How do I join a game on Table Top Events?
- Go to Table Top Event's webpage.
- Create your free account.
- Go to Y-Con's Table Top Event's webpage.
- Click on ‘Buy Badges’ top purchase your badge to get into Y-Con.
- From Y-Con’s Table Top Event’s webpage click on ‘Attend’ at the top and then ‘Events Schedule’. Here you can browse through the games and see how many player spots are left.
How do I register a game to run?
Similar to joining a game on Table Top Events, you can register a game.
- Go to Table Top Event's webpage.
- Create your free account.
- Go to Y-Con's Table Top Event's webpage.
- Click on ‘Submit Events’ and fill out the fields regarding the game you want to play. Be sure to fill in as much detail about the game you want to run.
- If you run two games you will receive up to 15% off your badge to get into Y-Con. If you run games for 8 hours or more you get in for free.
- Once your games are approved, you can purchase your badge.
