Y-CON 2025 | May 30 - June 1, 2025

Y-Con Miniatures painting contest

One entry per category per person – due to the limited space we are asking you to bring your one best entry for each category, thank-you!

The “Open System“

The contest is set up using the open system. This will mean that there can be multiple awards for the same level or no awards depending on the quality of work submitted This is also in the sprit of creating an atmosphere of people/artists sharing skills. You are really only competing against yourself and how you placed last year.

These are the Categories and Judging Criteria for Y-Con Miniatures Painting Contest 2024

Heavily Modified Models - fully scratched or heavily converted and painted(!) figures. Minor conversions, such as re-positioning or re-sculpting of an arm, leg and/or a replacement head are not considered in this class. Changing the entire pose of a commercial figure, however, qualifies for this class. The addition of commercially available heads, hands and feet, and accessories are allowed. We encourage adding documentation, to show the build, added to the figure on the competition table.

  • Construction 30%
